Message from the Director
It is giving me an immense pleasure and pride to introduce globally a newly established academic centre of excellence of the country – Institute of Information & Communication Technology (IICT) of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur. The Institute has started its journey on 16 March, 2016 as a contributing partner for nation-wide ICT research and development of modern ‘Digital Bangladesh’. I do thankful to the policy makers of Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh for keeping faith on us through establishment of IICT, DUET; obviously, it encourages and motivates us to go further through implementing multi-disciplinary research & development related to ICT based solutions for Bangladesh as well as for global world.
Currently, Institute of Information & Communication Technology (IICT) of DUET offers two Postgraduate programs namely, Masters in ICT and Postgraduate Diploma in ICT. Side-by-side, a series of short-courses and professional trainings are conducted for producing ICT skilled manpower. The Institute has a good number of qualified, research-minded and energetic faculty members & proficient eligible staffs; and also invites topic-wise experts as visiting faculty from relevant Departments of DUET to conduct classes and supervise graduate students. As of now, the infrastructure of the Institute has been master planned as a part of the project titled ‘Further Development Project Proposal (FDPP) of DUET, Gazipur’. Two well-equipped modern research laboratories have already been functioning as Knowledge Engineering Laboratory (IICT Lab-1) and Real-Time Systems Laboratory (IICT Lab-2). Very soon, the Institute will have its permanent infrastructures for academic, research and official activities at the 2nd campus of DUET.
Finally, I wish all the best possible success, outcome and achievements for IICT, DUET complying with modern and emerging ICT advancements.
